Our friends at Future Craft Collective have an ongoing guest blogger spot on Craft's Summer Camp and for their most recent project, they used Mod Green Pod's bloom fabric to make a meditation pillow. Check out the concept and the instructions at Craft!

more Before & After goodness from MGP's very own Susan

After the headboard, Susan tackled a bigger challenge and gave a ratty set of dining chairs a glamorous new lease on life. Be very thankful that the photos aren't scratch-and-sniff because the "before" chairs just about knocked us out when Susan first dragged them back from the junk shop. Luckily, once she stripped away the foul fabric and original padding, the chairs had sturdy (and odorless) bones. She gave them some sunny yellow paint and stapled some Grand Jubilee licorice to new cushions and voila!

If you have ever called our office, chances are that you have had the pleasure of chatting with MGP's Jill-of-all-trades, Susan Rowe. In addition to keeping us in order, Susan is a super talented, hands-on designer who isn't afraid of a new project. A few months ago, she brought 4 incredibly abused chairs back to life with paint and new fabric (I mean, you should have SEEN the chairs before she redeemed them!) and she built this adorable headboard from scratch, using MGP's Butterfly Jubilee:

REALLY adorable, right?!  Well, you can make your own!  Our very clever friends at Urban Nest crafted these using our Bloom organic cotton and upcycled cereal boxes.  Thankfully they were generous enough to document the process and give us all easy instructions in a downloadable pdf at their website, so go forth and make your own!

I am a big fan of old skool Bon Ami (120 years old!) because it's a great green cleaning scrub that kicks dirt's ass without the off-gas.  (I think I have a new ad campaign for the company, dontcha think?) 

You should SEE what Bon Ami did to the rust and crud on the metal framed chairs!  That's right, it kicked rust's ass.  What a revelation!  Check out the before/after on Cecelia's chair.

Spruce "Make Your Green Statement" class was a HUGE success. BEFORE PHOTOS.

Last Saturday and Sunday, Spruce Austin held a "Make Your Green Statement" upholstery class where 6 students learned upholstery basics and walked out on Sunday afternoon with a Mod Green Pod covered chair.  

It was incredibly fun and so satisfying to watch the chairs go from grubby to green and gorgeous!  Below are the "before" photos of the students with their chairs.  From top to bottom:  Tara, Marta (who flew all the way from Washington D.C. for the class!), Hope, Glenda (well, her chair--for some reason, I don't have a "before" photo for her), Christina, and Cecelia.
