Local and organic! Mod Green Pod in Standard Magazine's Special Spring Issue

Thank you, Standard Magazine, for the wonderful coverage of gloriously green life and design in Austin, Texas! I'm particularly proud of the grand fabric spread shot at Johnson's Backyard Garden.

I was initially drawn to organic cotton textiles because I knew I wanted to design fabric but I wanted MY product to be something that was just as safe for the environment and consumers as organically grown food. It's really exciting to see how much progress organic food has made in the past decade and it's thrilling to be working in an area that is closely following food. As consumer awareness of what we put INTO our bodies becomes more and more mainstream, we're starting to see more people understand that what surrounds us is equally important.

Mod Green Pod has been a leader in this growing movement and we're honored when others recognize the connection between our products and the food, health and sustainability movements. As these photos prove, it's a joyful place to be!

Another view of our Special Edition organic cotton cloth

Here's a good view of our new organic cotton, a Special Edition Anticipate. This is three yards long, and 54" wide. Each medallion is just under a half-yard tall, so one yard contains two full rows of medallions, then the colors repeat again.

Anticipate, 2011 Special Edition, is available!

Part of Mod Green Pod's polished signature look is owed to our focus on one- and two-color prints. Today, however, we're excited to unveil our new Special Edition Anticipate pattern, elegantly featuring 10 unique medallions in 9 luscious colors. Calm neutrals marry vibrant pops of warm brights to create this magical combo. Printed in the United States on our US-grown and woven organic cotton upholstery weight canvas, this cloth is perfect for that reupholstery job you've been planning for this new year! It's also perfect for an upholstered headboard, full-length drapes, Roman shades, or a grouping of accent pillows.

Clara fabric for drapes

Our Clara fabric has always been my favorite choice for drapes. I was lucky to see them in an elegant formal living room this past week. We have the cream in stock or we can print the pattern in a custom color, as well.

Custom color fabric made into beautiful, coordinating throw pillows

A Nashville client ordered Bloom, Aspire and Sublimate in a custom palette of greys, red and gold to match the existing colors in her room:

Contest time!

Name our new midnight blue color (for a new design debuting later this fall) in the Mod Green Pod tradition of having edible names and win a yard of fabric. Check out examples of other edible color names on our website.

Friend us on Facebook to submit your suggestions. www.facebook.com/ModGreenPod

Why edible names for our colors? Well, we go to great lengths to source only Global Organic Textile Standard approved inks for our organic cotton textiles. We like to think that they are good enough and safe enough to eat (but we still don't recommend that you eat fabric!)

Custom fabric for Kandrac & Kole in Atlanta

When Kandrac & Kole, an Atlanta-based interior design firm, moved into their new digs, they had a tough time finding fabrics to match their signature colors. Then they discovered Mod Green Pod's custom program and loved the patterns so much, they ordered 8, using a coordinated, limited palette. Mod Green Pod matched their chosen colors, ordered the fabrics and a few weeks later, they created artwork for their beautiful new conference room.

For more information on how to order Mod Green Pod's delicious patterns in your own palette, visit our custom page, email us at info@modgreenpod.com or just pick up the phone and call: 512.524.5196.
